Grandma Weaver’s Krisp Kringles
* This recipe is the recipe use used in the fashion show*

 1 cup butter
1 tsp. lemon extract
½ cup sugar
1 tsp. orange extract
1 egg
3 cups flour
½ Tbsp. baking powder

Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs and extract. Sift flour and baking powder together. Add to egg mixture. Chill dough. Roll very thin and cut in desired shapes. Bake 400 degrees for 10 minutes . Decorate as desired

Momsie’s Date Pinwheels
 

2 ¼ cup chopped dates 1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar 2 cups brown sugar
1 cup water 3 eggs well beaten
1 cup nuts 4 cups sifted flour
½ tsp. Soda ½ tsp. Salt


Combine dates, sugar and water. Cook over low heat until thick, about 10 min.
Add nuts. Cool. Cream shortening and brown sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Add dry
Ingredients and mix well. Roll dough, spread a thin layer of date mixture. Roll up like a jelly roll. Wrap in wax paper and chill thoroughly. Slice and bake 10-12 minutes at 400 degrees.

Ginger Snaps

2 ¼ cup flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp cloves
1 cup packed brown sugar
¾ cup cooking oil
¼ cup molasses
1 egg

Combine brown sugar, oil, egg and molasses. Beat well. Add spices and soda. Add flour and beat until well blended. Shape into 1” balls and roll in sugar. Place 2” apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten the cookies slightly with the bottom of a glass and bake for 10 minutes in a 375 oven. Makes 48

Chocolate Marshmallow Cookies

1 ¾ flour      ½ cup shortening
½ t. Soda      1 cup sugar
½ t. Salt        1 egg
½ c. cocoa     ½ cup milk
1 t. Vanilla

Cream together sugar and shortening and add other wet ingredients, then add dry ingredients
Mix together and drop by teaspoon 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake for 8 minutes at 350 degrees. Take out and top each cookie with ½ of a large marshmallow. Put cut side down and bake 1-2 minutes longer. Cool then frost with chocolate frosting and top with ½ of a walnut on each cookie.

Swedish Gingersnaps

1 cup sugar
1 cup butter
1 tsp baking soda
3 ½ to 4 cups flour
1 cup light molasses
½ tsp salt
1 ½ tsp ginger
1 ½ tsp cinnamon

Cream butter and sugar well until light. Beat in molasses. Sift together flour, baking soda, spices. Add to creamed mixture and beat well. Chill dough. Shape into balls about the size of a quarter. Dip into sugar. Place on a non-greased baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.

The Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 ¼ c. firmly packed light brown sugar
¾ c. vegetable shortening
2 Tbsp. milk
1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
1 large egg
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
¾ tsp. baking soda
1 c. chocolate chips

Heat oven to 375. Combine brown sugar, shortening, milk and vanilla in large bowl. Beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Beat egg into creamed mixture. Combine flour, salt and baking soda, Mix into creamed mixture until just blended. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop rounded tablespoonfuls on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes or until cookie is flattened and brown on the bottom. Enjoy for days!

Yogurt Sugar Cookies

2 Sticks Margarine
2 C. Sugar
2 Eggs
2 tsp. Vanilla
1 8oz carton yogurt
6 ½ C. Flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Beat margarine and sugar till fluffy. Add eggs, vanilla and yogurt, mixing well. Add flour and soda. It may be necessary to mix the last of the flour by hand. Roll out on floured board and cut with favorite cookie cutters. (the open kind work best) Bake on ungreased pan at 350° for about 10 minutes, or just until set.
Makes about 4 dozen

Applesauce Cookies

2 cups sugar 

1 cup shortening 
4 eggs
5 ½ cup flour 
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg 

1 tsp cloves 
1 tsp salt 
2 cup applesauce
1 tsp soda 

1-12 oz chocolate chips

Mix applesauce and soda together and set aside. Mix sugar, shortening and eggs, until smooth.
Add applesauce, flour, and spices to mixture. Add chocolate chips.
Drop on greased pan desire amount
Bake at 400 for 9-12 minutes. Makes 4 dozen

Marble Cookies


2 cups flour
½ tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. salt
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup sugar
½ cup butter softened
½ cup sour cream
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips melted

Mix wet ingredients, add dry ingredients. Fold in chocolate. Bake on 350° for 12 minutes.

Homemade Oreos:

2 Duncan Hines Deluxe Devil's Food Cake Mixes
1 1/2 c. Crisco Shortening
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
Frosting:
8 oz. cream cheese
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cube butter
1 lb. powdered sugar

Combine cookie ingredients. Roll cookies into balls about the size of a melon ball. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 9 minutes (no longer than that)! Cream frosting ingredients together and spread on each cookie. Put two cookies together like an oreo.
